Recent Extremes - Wind Gust problem

Post by ayde_bury »

Morning Steve,

I've spotted a blip with the Recent Extremes on the Cumulus (1.9.4 1085) panel which obviously is passed through to the website.

Last night at 21:48 a High Gust was recorded of 37mph, rather than on previous nights this being reset at midnight it is still showing this morning as todays highest gust.

http://oinky.net/weather/ if you need to take a look personally.

One for the 1086 list perhaps?

Thank very much, and hope you're hanging on to your hat for another stormy week.

Adrian.

Are the clocks on your station console and PC set correctly? I suspect that the cause of this is the code which reads the high gust value and time from the station once a minute (for Davis stations only), in case a reading was missed. It doesn't do it for the first five minutes after midnight, to avoid the possibility of getting yesterday's high. If the clock on the console is more than about 5 minutes later than the PC, then Cumulus will still get yesterday's reading as it won't have reset yet.

Hadn't checked the console clock, it's as you expected 5 minutes slower than the PC running cumulus. I will edge it forward by the 5 minutes.

Thanks for the prompt reply.
