Greetings to ALL!
5 Years with Vantage pro2 and old xp machine, but time for a change!!!!
I have Acer Netbook with 7 Starter and will make this dedicated WX computer, unless some of you experienced folks feel there might be issues. Nice little machine, works OK with Picassa and standard word processors and Web browsing.
Nothing wrong with it, needs to be put to good use.
Want to upgrade my site(glenwoodweathernow.com) and run Cumulus.
Thanks in advance!!
Bigal

I know that some people are using Cumulus with netbooks, and also with Windows 7 Starter, so it shouldn't be a problem.

I use a msi Netbook, 1 gig of ram, Windows 7 Pro on my home network, dedicated to running Cumulus . Been running for over 2 years with no issues.
I've configured Ccleaner to clear out any junk (usually stuff from Internet Explorer even though it not being used by me) once a day using Windows Task Scheduler, also added Cumulus to start when Windows starts. I've turned off all MS updates.

The only additional programs running are Windows screensaver to blank the screen (possibly saves a bit of power) and Teamviewer 9 which I use to access the netbook via my home network and the Internet.

One benefit of using a netbook or laptop is they usually have a rechargable battery attached which acts as uninterruptible power supply should you have a mains failure.

Don't forget to turn off hibernation and sleep mode.
