Uploading data overnight to Windows 8
Uploading data overnight to Windows 8
Hi,
I used to have a Windows XP PC and used the Cumulus Software to upload to Wunderground. I could keep the computer switched off for most of the day and then upload all the data to Cumulus and then logon to Wunderground to make some lovely graphs. I have tried doing this using Windows laptop and having problems. Is there a reason why I should be having this problem? I haven't spent ages looking at it but hoped that there may be an easy fix.
My station is the cheapy Easyweather WH 1080.
Thanks Jerry

Please zip up the diags folder and attach it.
You're not allowing the laptop to 'sleep' while Cumulus is running, by any chance?

Re: Uploading data overnight to Windows 8
Just to be clear: when you say you are "having problems", what do you mean exactly? Problems getting Cumulus to download the data from the station, or problems getting it to upload it to WU, or something else?
Steve
Re: Uploading data overnight to Windows 8
Hi, I try to have the data stored up on the weather station so I could turn my computer off. I could then turn the computer on later and then upload the stored data to Cumulus. I then got on the Wunderground website and upload the same stored data to the website. It means I can upload hours of data and only keep my computer running only when I need it.
Thanks Jerry

Yes, I understand. But you say you're having problems, and you don't say what those problems are. What isn't working?

Re: Uploading data overnight to Windows 8
The new windows 8 Laptop has had Cumulus installed and only shows the live data and doesn't seem to upload all the hours of data from before which is stored in the weather station. So no graphs; only the live weather.steve wrote:Yes, I understand. But you say you're having problems, and you don't say what those problems are. What isn't working?

Re: Uploading data overnight to Windows 8
Have you set up the required Settings, i.e. tick "Use data logger", tick under Weather Underground "Enabled" and "Catch Up"?

Thanks for that, I now have some lovely Graphs! Wundergroud will hopefully stop sending me emails about me and my weather station so they're happy too.PaulMy wrote:Have you set up the required Settings, i.e. tick "Use data logger", tick under Weather Underground "Enabled" and "Catch Up"?

Thanks again, good stuff! Jerry
