i have my settings box for wind speed rounding UNCHECKED but still get hi wind speed in my dayfile.txt rounded to the nearest whole mph.
Is it possible to have this tenths of a mph please or do i need to revert to m/s to get tenths?
thank you

Re: gust speed 1dp?
Davis stations have a resolution of 1 mph for wind speeds. If you use m/s for the units, it should convert using a resolution of 0.1 m/s - but it is still measuring to the nearest 1 mph, so you will get values like 0.4, 0.9, 1.3 etc for 1, 2, 3 mph. Note that changing units in Cumulus invalidates your previous data.

Ah ok thanks.
Not your baby, but why do other softwares cite it to tenths even when mph is selected?
Thanks Steve.

Re: gust speed 1dp?
You would have to ask the author(s) of the software(s).
Weatherlink doesn't. In some places there's a digit shown after the decimal point, but it's always zero (in mph).
If you used a non-integer wind speed calibration setting in Cumulus, and didn't set 'round wind speeds', you could get a figure after the decimal point, but it's implying a precision that the station doesn't have.

Thanks Steve. All makes sense. It was WD.
I will stick with whole values.
