using a still pic instead of WEBCAM
I've just tried out a webcam but it was more suited to Skype and far too wide an angle lens for weathercam use. Until such time as I can afford a decent external surveillance camera I'd like to show an occasional still pic. But I've no idea how to do that!
Do I just enter an address, such as C:/weather/something.jpg in the webcam slot? All ideas gratefully received.

Re: using a still pic instead of WEBCAM
.. is for if you have made a dedicated page, which would then contain the image.the webcam slot?
Unless it is large or you want to write some 'blurb' to go with it, it is probably better to add your image to one of your existing pages.

Many tks for getting back to me but I'm floundering! This is far deeper than I expected. I'll put it on hold for a bit I think while I sort myself out.

Cumulus can upload graphics and data to a web server, and I suppose there is no reason why it shouldn't upload a photo as well if it is among the files that are specified. It could then be displayed at a suitable size on your web page. However someone will have to update that photo file manually if the image is not being refreshed automatically with some sort of web cam.
The alternative would be to display a photo on your web page, and manually change it however often you wanted to.
If you describe how you are doing your web pages now, I'm sure a solution can be simply explained.
