Bug Report

Post by Neil1970 »

Hi Steve,

While Cumulus was downloading the data when i turned it on this afternoon it gave me a bug report.

After loading i have todays rainfall as 327.0mm, Min Temp as 0.0c and Min Pressure as 0.0hPa. By what i can see all the other readings are fine.

I have attached the bug report.

Thanks for looking
Neil.

Neil, the error is a failure to write to dayfile.txt, usually this is because the file was in use by another process (rather like the error reported by someone else recently on today.ini). It's hard to say what the other process was that was causing this - possibly antivirus or something. I see you are using Vista and have Cumulus installed in Program Files - this is less than ideal, which is really my fault. You might want to consider reinstalling to C:\Cumulus and copying your data files over, but I can understand if you don't want to do this. It might reduce the incidence of errors in the future.

Because of the error while writing dayfile.txt, Cumulus probably hasn't done the day rollover properly, which is probably why you have these strange figures for rain and pressure. The easiest solution is to restart Cumulus using the most recent backups from the backup folder from before the problem happened - i.e. the ones from when you last closed it down before this afternoon.
