I need a little help please , I am having problems with the transmitter on my weather centre the red light was staying on and was sending no data to the unit . I thought getting a new transmitter would solve the problem but the red light still stays on. Is there any thing I can try please . Santa is coming soon so going to ask him for a Davis Vantage Vue.
Any help would be appreciated, ',,,,thank you

Hi,

The red LED on the transmitter? Are you saying that a replacement "outdoor unit" (transmitter) behaves in exactly the same way as the first? :?

Are you sure that its batteries are "good"?

Cheers, Alan.

Thanks Alan, yes both transmitters old and new were behaving in this manner , I did a little browse about the forum and tried a few of the tips in resetting with the batteries , hey presto after several days and hundreds of attempts I now have two working transmitters ,
Thanks for helping though I appreciate it,
still going to ask Santa for that Davis one though :D

this is the post from the forum with the link that helped me most Please visit the following URL http://www.timetec.freeserve.co.uk/DCF/dcf.htm
There you WILL see the Circuit Boards and will SEE the RED LED Bulb, Which IS located inside the Thermo/Hydro Transmitter Unit (I.E The Unit which has all the Leads plugged into it).

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that moving the DCF-77 antenna to the location indicated in this link will interfere with the units transmission signal. Also, the length of the antenna is a function of the frequency it is tuned to. Do not change the length of the antenna.
