changing extra sensor display locations?

Post by piconut »

I have a Davis Vantage Pro 2 and I use 3 extra wireless temperature probes and 2 extra temp/humidity sensors. What I would like to be able to do is to alter the arrangement (or sort order) of where the data displays in the Extra Sensors window. Specifically, I have the two temp/humidity sensors on Davis ID #'s 4 and 5 (and the 3 temperature sensors on 1, 2, and 3) but the Extra Sensor window shows the humidity data as being aligned with sensors 1 and 2. Instead I would like to be able to align the humidity data with the temperature sensor that it is associated with, like this:

I'm not a programmer but I'm thinking a way to edit the strings.ini file to alter the sensor order might look something like this:

[SensorSortOrder_Humidity]
Sensor1=Sort4
Sensor2=Sort5
Sensor3=Sort3
Sensor4=Sort1
Sensor5=Sort2
Sensor6=Sort6
Sensor7=Sort7
Sensor8=Sort8
Sensor9=Sort9
Sensor10=Sort10

And if you're thinking "why don't I just put the two temp/hum sensors at ID 1 and ID 2"?...
Well, apparently the Davis logger only logs the first 3 extra sensors and I need to be able to graph the 3 temperature sensors and this is the only way that I know of to do this.

If you create an enhancement request I can consider it for a future version of Cumulus.

Thinking about it, it's my intention that the next version of Cumulus will have a fully configurable display anyway, running in a browser.
