If you mean in the index.htm page then edit indexT.htm and do as the code says
Code: Select all
<!-- Solar data. If you don't have a solar sensor, you may wish to delete everything from here to the next comment -->
<tr class="td_temperature_data">
<td>Solar Radiation</td>
<td><#SolarRad> W/m²</td>
<td>Evapotranspiration Today</td>
<td><#ET> <#rainunit></td>
</tr>
<!-- End of solar data -->

oh that's super - didn't see the FAQ and I did honestly look.
Is there a way to make the web table for index.htm narrower?
I have tried width="300" but nothing seems to change
also tried width=75%
many thanks

You could try increasing the left and right margins in the CSS:
#content {
margin-top: 5%;
margin-right: 20%;
margin-bottom: 5%;
margin-left: 20%;
}

hi Steve, I really boosted the margins and it didn't do anything.
you mean in the weatherstyle.css file, right?

Is this your site?
http://www.maidenerleghweather.com/cumulus
If so, your weatherstyle.css file at
http://www.maidenerleghweather.com/cumu ... rstyle.css still has the right and left margins at the default 20%:
#content {
margin-top: 5%;
margin-right: 20%;
margin-bottom: 5%;
margin-left: 20%;
}
But in any case, it was only a suggestion, it may not do what you want. It's not really my department

Yes that is Steve, although I changed it back as it didn't appear to work.
Anyone else?

Do you really mean make the page (content) narrower ?
I suspect you really want to fix the 'wide' table ...
In which case this has 'broken' the table confines because of the menu nav links. (Something the beteljuice has mentioned oft times before)
The problem is the
link::link construct
There needs to be a space between
:: making them
link: :link
This of course would need to be modified on all your
Template pages.
If you wish to modify the content position in any way, then you would use the stylesheet and use 'margin' property (and width)
Code: Select all
#content {
width: 700px /* eg. a fixed width */
margin: 20px auto 15px auto; /* eg. top 20px, bottom 15px, centered widthways
}
... but .... you still need to fix the nav menu first !

i have the index page in an iframe at
http://maidenerleghschool.co.uk/communi ... r-station/
the problem is that i want to get rid of the horizontal scroll bars at the bottom and i guessed that the space between the columns could be narrowed.
which is the best way to close the gap between the column of variables (eg between temperature and the value?)

Or as I have used:-
link:<wbr>:link
You do need the page to be HTML5 to officially support <wbr> though.

This of course would need to be modified on all your Template pages.
These are the xxxxxxxT.htm files.

You have an <IFrame> which contains an <IFrame> in php ......
If you do the <spaces> in between the links that should close the table up enough for you.
