Re: narrow the web page
You have set up a test page but failed to copy the standard webfiles into the same place, hence you are getting 404 error message (missing files) on weatherstyle.css (needed to set the included style) and /images directory (specifically the moon phase image).
So it is not a valid test because these elements are missing.

Re: narrow the web page
As Steve said in his first post, kepp increasing the left and right margins in weatherstyle.css.
Try 25% and gradually increase it but you are going to eventually get data from one field running into another making it illegible.
Code: Select all
#content {
margin-top: 5%;
margin-right: 20%;
margin-bottom: 5%;
margin-left: 20%;
}-

i do a local web update and then upload the file http://www.maidenerleghweather.com/cumulus/test4.htm
can't see any change at all?

Re: narrow the web page
But you haven't uploaded your altered weatherstyle.css file because the one on the site is still reading
For a style file to be used it must also be uploaded to your server as the style is used when the page is downloaded to you. It is no good changing it locally and expecting your page to alter if you do not upload it.
Code: Select all
#content {
margin-top: 5%;
margin-right: 20%;
margin-bottom: 5%;
margin-left: 20%;

The school site has:muppet77 wrote:Sorry I don't fully follow the iframe post.

Code: Select all
<iframe src="http://www.maidenerleghweather.com/cumulus/index.htm" target="_blank" scrolling="no" style="height: 700px; border: 0px none; width: 930px; margin-top: -60px; margin-left: -188px; ">
</iframe>An interesting solution

the beteljuice wrote:There needs to be a space between :: making them link: :link
This of course would need to be modified on all your Template pages.

Re: narrow the web page
Thank you so much everyone.
I have changed the iframe width to get rid of the scroll bars on the schools page.
I cannot get access to indexT until back in work but I have tested a dummy version at home and deleted a couple of the links rather than space them out (I don't use them as I have my own).
The result on the page is perfect! Width is narrowed and the scrolls have gone.
Will access the template on Monday.
Thank you!
