Wind vane problem

Post by beeman »

My wind vane has been reporting a Northerly wind for the last couple of months. A couple of weeks ago I swung the whole unit on the pole so the arm which was pointing South now points North. The wind vane is still reporting a Northerly wind. The vane is turning OK. We've had a light Westerly all day. The console corresponds to the Cumulus reports. Calibration in Cumulus is 0°

Any ideas?

I have the same problem. I have replaced the wind vane and the temperature sensor. I have an extension installed and I suspect the problem is corrosion somewhere.. I am going to replace the extension and see if that solves the problem. I will let you know.

I had the same problem, vane was always pointing north so i changed it and now works A1. I noticed that the inside was all rusted and i have a 265 NC WEATHER STATION.
