Bug Report

Post by darren »

Hi All (well Steve I suppose!)

Cumulus created a bug report this morning.

I am no programmer but it would appear to be a clock error from the WMR-200. I extended my aerial and I think that the weather station for the first time in years has synced itself with Anthorn. I'll turn that feature off on the station, see what happens tomorrow.

This problem can happen when there is no 'recent' data for some time, and when I've seen it before it's happened just after Cumulus starts up, but it's been running for over 9 hours in this case. I suspect some problem with reading data from the station, but it might simply be a bug in Cumulus. If you zip up the diags folder and attach it, I'll see if I can see what's happened.

I'm still not really sure why it crashed; there was some kind of problem with the in-memory database that it uses to hold the last week's data for the 'recent data' web tags. It periodically has to close it and re-open it, and it seems there was a problem reopening it.

Your station does seem to be behaving a little oddly; it's saying that there is archive data available even after it's finished sending it when Cumulus starts. This may not be a problem, I've seen my WMR200 do this from time to time. Sometimes it seems that old archive data gets 'stuck'.

If you start getting the same crash repeatedly, you could turn on the debug log and that might give some clues, although it looks more like a problem with the underlying runtime code which Cumulus uses.

Hi Steve

Thanks for speedy response.

Yes my station has in the past had oddities with the data logger, sometimes in the same day stating 29 days available then later on 1 day available.

I'll try to remeber to clear the data logger after Cumulus has downloaded the logs, see if that helps.

Ive had Cumulus running for three days solid no problem, the 9 hours running was due to some windows updates.

I'll keep an eye on it, any further problems I'll let you know.
