Newbie with an Excel question

Post by Sansian »

Hi all

I have searched the forums but have not seen an answer to my question.

We plan to use our weather station out in the paddock where we are running a research trial (about 200km from the main campus). What I want to be able to do is take a laptop out every week to 10 days and download the data. Once we have the data it would be beneficial to be able to manipulate the data with excel, I am thinking of having a list where it gives the date and time down the page and then each column having all the relevant weather readings.

Is this possible and if so how do you do it??

Thanks
Greebo

Cumulus stores all of the data in the MTHYRlog.txt (where MTH = the 3 letters of the Month and YR = the 2 digits of the year) files in the data directory. They're comma separated files with the format explained in the help file. I add my month files to my running Excel file (which is a combination of all previous months) when the month changes. I assume you'll be hooking Cumulus up to the weather station on that laptop every week to 10 days?
