When cumulus opened today I got that message.
When I looked in the diags file I found this:
11/6/2013 09:26:03.273 : Error writing dayfile.txt: I/O error 32
11/6/2013 09:26:03.273 : If the above error mentions I/O error 32, something on your system is locking the file and preventing Cumulus writing to it
11/6/2013 09:26:03.273 : Cumulus has been unable to write to dayfile.txt; please insert the following data into the file
11/6/2013 09:26:03.273 : 05/11/13,21.3,180,22:34,19.2,23:57,33.1,14:57,29.87,04:09,30.10,22:02,0.00,00:09,0.00,26.8,54.8,9.2,21:05,52,23:57,85,02:19,0.000,0.0,33.1,14:57,27.9,15:03,10.3,22:52,0.00,00:09,11.3,21:03,27.7,03:49,4.4,23:57,270,38.2,0.0,0,00:09,0,00:09
11/6/2013 09:26:03.274 : Error closing dayfile.txt: I/O error 103
What must I do now?
Do I need to simply cut/paste the data in the dayfile? Do I need to edit any other files? Do I do these edits while Cumulus is closed? Is there something that caused this error?
Any thoughts will be appreciated.....

No
Preferably. It's always best to stop Cumulus before editing any of its files.Do I do these edits while Cumulus is closed?
As the message says, something else on your system has locked the file. Anti-virus, backup software, etc.Is there something that caused this error?

Re: Error writing to dayfile...?
Steve, Thank you so much. I opened Cumulus a little later today than normal(A long but happy nite!) and when I did I think my Avast AV was running something. Perhaps that is all it is.
I'll find out tomorrow. This has never happened before.
Again many thanks for the help.

Re: Error writing to dayfile...?
If your AV software allows it, you should consider excluding the Cumulus folder and subfolders from its checking. Or at least the data folder.
