Modification to the display text in the Cumulus error window

Post by Dave Walker »

Hi Steve,

Might it be possible in a future update to change the error display window so that (for example) on a Lost Sensor Contact alarm from a FO, the initial alarm time is shown but then no further ones 'added' every 10 secs until the alarm flag clears, then a text line something like "Sensor Contact regained at ..."

(Same goes for the 'station not responding - remove USB and batteries etc' message).

When these alarms last for a long time, it sometimes isn't possible to see the time of the first entry because, after some time, the first entry is deleted as successive ones are added at the bottom. There appears to be a limit on the number of lines that can be added to the log.

Regards
Dave

Yes, that would be possible. The error window keeps the last 256 messages (I think), it wasn't really originally intended for messages which repeat a lot. It really needs replacing with something else, it was a quick hack when I first wrote Cumulus, and I've never got around to improving it.

Thanks Steve. I appreciate you probably already have a long 'to do' list!

Note that it's always possible (though less convenient) to look in the diags files and see all of the messages there.
