I need to edit out spurious data from a couple of monthly files. Self inflicted error I'm afraid.
Altering individual cumulative figures would take an age and risk error.
Reading previous posts, I note the warning about editing using Excel, but what I want to do is convert the comma separated data into columns, use Excel to copy the correct data down the column, save as a csv, then rename it to a txt extension. Are there any risks to that approach? Can Cumulus cope with data such as 13.0 ie floating point being converted to 13 ie integer, or do I need to force format of floating point columns to show a decimal point?
Many thanks for any guidance!
Stuart

Re: Edit data files using Excel
Floats represented as integers are OK, but not vice versa. The date has to stay as dd/mm/yy.
