Windows 8.1 problem

I know this is not what you like to see, but it might be easy to fix.

I had Cumulus running on my Win 8 tablet before and it behaved without any issue. Now I did upgrade today to 8.1. Cumulus is due to the limited disk space installed on a SD card. After the upgrade it did not run, as Windows changed the disk name. I corrected that through the disk manager and it started but crashed. (attached the bugreport). Strange it seems to report a format error?

Any advice how to fix this please?

I'm really missing Cumulus when I have not a view of the current weather on my desk :)

Many thanks

Werner

It looks like your Windows settings have changed, in particular the decimal separator. Windows is trying to understand a value in yesterday.ini:

exception message : '8.5' is not a valid floating point value.

But Windows is now using a comma for decimals, so it doesn't understand '8.5' as a number. I think you would normally use commas as decimals, or are you using 'full stops'? Either way, you need to make sure your decimal separator in Windows matches the data in the Cumulus log files. Cumulus uses standard Windows routines to read and write data (not everyone agrees with this approach, but that's the way it is) so your settings have to stay the same.

Whow,

that was ultrafast thanks a lot Steve!

Understanding what is behind made that a non event  . I don't know why; for Switzerland decimal always is used as a . for Austria Germany a , is the decimal separator.

Why the upgarde to Win 8.1 did change that (I left the country option the same) I don't know.

Changed the settings "et voila" Cumulus is back showing me everything correctly!

Many thanks for that fast support!!

Cheers Werner
