EDIT....TODAYS RAIN....TIME STAMP

Hello Steve,
Ive noticed that when changing today's rain in the edit section of cumulus that when you pass your cursor over today's rain the time does not change and stays the same from the last tip of rainfall.
Is it possible that when you edit today's rain that the time changes also when doing it manually because fine offset stations start at 0.3 mm, when rain starts to fall. But since i also have a manual rain gauge sometime we get 0.1 mm of rain the whole day (24 hrs) . This could be a option .
Thanks Tony

I don't follow - how would it know what to set the last tip time to? Do you mean a separate box on the same form where you could manually adjust the last tip date and time by entering it yourself?

I know you don't have much time for every suggestion, but maybe some kind of algorithm to detect when was the last day with any precipitation? For example, if you get 0,6 fake millimetres today, it'll show the last tip as being today. However, if you edited them to 0,0 again, something could be set up to redetect when the last precipitation was. But I understand that'd probably be too much work

Yes some of the View and Edit screens show items discovered by searching through monthly or daily log files. And yes one can manually update items in the various Cumulus files by following the editing instructions in the Wiki.

This is the thing. The rain editor is just adjusting the start of day figure so that the currently calculated total (current figure minus start of day figure) matches the figure you want it to be. It can't actually remove any false tips from the counter because it has to continue to work with the new counter. It doesn't know why you have adjusted the total and it has no idea where the previous genuine tip is.
