sensor problems
sensor problems
Hi i have a watson weather station at the bottom of my garden .It has to be there to get the correct wind reading. The problem is the sensor with the temp gauge is in full sun and it always reads 5 c more than it should do.Is it possible to use a normal telephone wire extention to reach over to my house which is in the shade most of the day and fit the temp sensor there .

Re: sensor problems
Hi
Can't see why not - I extended my rain gauge by five metres with no problem. I think the wind
sensor uses all four wires (the raingauge only the centre two). You'll need the American style
(little plug) extension with four parallel wires. Or you could use the plant pot saucer shield - see
elsewhere in the forum. Make sure the join is well protected from the weather or corrosion
problems will happen. Bear in mind the DCF (atomic clock) reception - not too much obstruction between the base and Frankfurt.

Alan
