Serious problem cumulus 1.9.3
Hello to all
I have a problem with cumulus 1.9.3
I have windows 7 home premium, cumulus makes me lock the console
in practice as well to make me lock the console marks me values that are not real
if I close and reopen the temperature cumulus that before was wrong then turns right
it happened to me today that the console marked 21 mm and it was not raining, I closed and opened the console and cumulus marked 29 mm, I closed it again and cumulus open and I marked 38 mm
why cumulus makes me lock the console and marks me not always wrong values?
I own a Davis Vantage Pro 2 Wireless

Please zip up the diags folder and attach it.
Could you please explain what this means, I don't understand: "cumulus makes me lock the console"

Re: Serious problem cumulus 1.9.3
I can't see any problems in there, Cumulus appears to be recording the rain correctly according to the data it is receiving from the station. At the start of today, the rain counter was 1245:
25/10/2013 00:00:00.632 : Raindaystart set to 1245
At the last entry in the diags logs it was 1283:
25/10/2013 14:30:00.126 : Writing today.ini, LastUpdateTime = 25/10/2013 14:30:00 raindaystart = 1262 rain counter = 1283
So your station has recorded 38 mm of rain today. But as you have been using the rain editor, the start of day figure has been adjusted from 1245 to 1263, and Cumulus will have been showing 21 mm at that point. But the correct figure according to your station is 38 mm, not the 21 mm that you set it to. If your station is recording rain but it is not raining, then the problem is with your station, not with Cumulus.
Note that you should be using Cumulus 1.9.4 as you have firmware 3.12. If Cumulus is appearing to lock up, this is most likely the reason. Davis changed the way the stations respond to requests for data which means that Cumulus is constantly reading the data.

Re: Serious problem cumulus 1.9.3
Which problem? Because you have firmware 3.12, you need to install Cumulus 1.9.4, which will stop Cumulus using a lot of the processor and appearing to lock up.
If you think that your station is recording rain when it isn't raining, you need to look at what might be causing that. I'm afraid I can't help with that, particularly as we can't understand each other. You could start by checking the gauge mechanism.

the station increases when I restart cumulus mm.
increased from 21 mm to 29 mm when I restart cumulus
I do not think it is a mistake of the station
now I installed 1.9.4 cumulus

Re: Serious problem cumulus 1.9.3
It probably appears that way because the display isn't updating until you restart. But I can assure you that your station has recorded the amount of rain that I said it had recorded, according to the values it is sending to Cumulus. How much rain does your station console say has fallen today?mattia1989 wrote:the station increases when I restart cumulus mm.

Re: Serious problem cumulus 1.9.3
Sorry, I don't know what to suggest. Cumulus uses the annual rainfall total from the station and subtracts the figure at the start of the day from the current value to get today's total. If it's getting the wrong figure from somewhere, I don't where it's coming from. Your total is definitely increasing. I can restart Cumulus as many times as I want (I also have firmware 3.12) and the figure doesn't suddenly increase. Perhaps there's a problem in the Davis code reading your rain collector model (the mm or inches setting).
All I can suggest is that you try 1.9.4, which is the correct version for firmware 3.12, and see what happens tomorrow.
