Temperature Spike Removal

Post by Solorize »

Hi,

I have noticed over the past couple of weeks that I have been getting
spikes on my temerature readings, as seen in the below screen capture.

Can anyone advise what value I should enter into the spike removal
feature in Cumulus, to avoid spikes of this magnatude, with out
affecting the main readings?

My current settings are as below:

Thanks in advance

Mark

That looks like a change from about 13.4 to about 17.1, so a difference of about 3.7, so a spike removal setting of say 3.5 would have caught it. As with all of the spike removal settings, ideally you need to choose the smallest value that will catch all spikes but could never be a genuine change between two consecutive readings at the 48 second interval that the station uses. If your reading could never genuinely change by 3.5 degrees in 48 seconds, you are safe using that setting.
