Hi,
I have just set up a weather station using a Davis VP2 with Weatherlink IP unit I am also using Cumulus software. When using the Davis software after entering my Latitude and Longitude and logging on to findU it give my correct location, however, when using Cumulus no matter what I set my Latitude and Longitude to it is nowhere near my location! So can anyone help me with this problem?
I look forward to your replies.

This is uploading to CWOP, yes? You probably haven't entered your co-ordinates into Cumulus in the correct format. Can you show what you've put into Weatherlink and Cumulus, and give your CWOP ID, please?

CWOP ID EW3727.
Correct uploading to CWOP and viewed via the following link: http://www.findu.com/cgi-bin/wx.cgi?call=EW3727
This is the GPS information from my GPS software on my phone:
Lat N 53°04'21.873
Lon W 002°31'16.536
This is what I have in the Davis software:
Latitude: 53 4 21 N
Longitude: 2 31 17 E
I also "had" the above in Cumulus but it put me in the middle of the ocean!
So I now have the following:
Latitude: 53 4 21 N
Longitude: 0 0 2 E
That gets me on dry land
Running on the Davis WeatherLink software v 6.0.3 it shows correctly at: "EW3727 --- 3.1 miles southwest of CREWE, UNITED KINGDOM"
I also have another problem which started a couple of days ago, now when I run Cumulus "New Record" no longer flashes but it is updating ok, however if I run Comulus first on my laptop then start it on my destop, I first get "error 32701" on the desktop and after shutting it down on the laptop Cumulus starts working fine!
Thanks for your time Steve.
Regards
Bob.

Your GPS says you're west of the meridian but you're putting east into Cumulus. If the bit after the minutes symbol from your GPS is seconds, thenHong Kong Bob wrote:This is the GPS information from my GPS software on my phone:

Yes, you can't connect from two different PCs at the same time.however if I run Comulus first on my laptop then start it on my destop, I first get "error 32701" on the desktop and after shutting it down on the laptop Cumulus starts working fine!

Re: VP2 with Weatherlink IP unit and Cumulus problem
Well Steve that was easy
well it was when you know what you are doing
It's all reading correct now so thanks for that, I did know you could not run Cumulus on two PC's at the same time, well I did after trying. I have read the FAQ re the "New record" so that also sorts that out. One thing if I do start Cumulus up as I said before the "new Record " keeps flashing all the time
Keep up the good work.
Best regards,
Bob.

Re: VP2 with Weatherlink IP unit and Cumulus problem
You might be able to connect with two PC's by using Virtual VP. I do it all of the time. I don't know if the new Davis firmware effects the IP version the same as it does the USB/serial versions which seems to not work with VVP.
