...all the time. I have looked at a product 'Stribog', but would welcome other suggestions.

If you can tear yourself away from Windows and Cumulus, there are various lightweight Linux weather station software packages that can run on low power (in both watts and CPU number crunching senses) devices such as a Raspberry Pi or even a router.
Might be more of a learning curve than you'd like though.

Sorry but this is impossible without having a computer of some kind switched on since the Maplin N96FY passes data via a USB connection, so in order to update a web page continuously (which is what I assume you mean) you have to have a computer of some kind running a program like Cumulus uploading data to your web site.

If, however, you mean you just want your data published to the web when your computer is switched on, then Cumulus can do that, and will download data from the N96FY when the computer is switched on and then publish the latest results to the web.

Ahh ....

Your data is 'published' to a web site you have little control over and is a 'fixed' presentation.

Is that what you want ?

I did say
without having a computer of some kind
and effectively the Asus Router is acting as a "computer" although technically it is a Router. As the WL-500G or its variants are not ADSL based routers they would have to be an additional router in your home network to gain access to the Internet here in the UK.

There are also the limitations to the "Web Site" that Beteljuice mentions above.

That's an Asus router running (almost certainly) an embedded Linux and some weather station software. I wonder which software they're using - it's almost certainly open source, or based on one of the open source ones.
A Raspberry Pi is cheaper than an Asus WL500-gP (or similar) router, uses less power and has more compute power and memory.

... and Jim's pywws software, which will run on a Raspi (amongst other things), is very good. See http://jim-easterbrook.github.io/pywws/ ... index.html

I appreciate that you have deliberately avoided mentioning your own software, Jim, but I'm happy for it to be mentioned/discussed here.

I do have a version of Cumulus in the works which does already run on a Raspi and does most of what the Windows version does, but it's not really ready for distribution yet and won't be for some time.

Yesterday I installed PYWWS on my RPI. I did some reading before, but being a Linux novice, the complicated install scared me. Recently I found a prebuilt image: http://www.weather.dragontail.co.uk/ind ... rasp_image
In less than 1 hour (starting from downloading the image) I got the basics working, including ftp the default output examples to my website.

However, after this, I guess that customizing will take many hours. I like Cumulus much more, it is complete, out of the box. Hard to wait for the Cumulus Linux RPI version!
Until then, and after a few weeks of playing with PYWWS, I think I will revert to Cumulus. Hope that it will catch up data from the WH1080 memory.

Probably a stupid question: Will some kind of USB Y-cable (or even a USB hub) work to have both Cumulus+Windows and PYWWS+RPI running at the same time?

Unlikely. Even if you could get two connections, the station would almost certainly get confused by two things asking for data at the same time.

Raspberry Pi now fired up. How do I get it to upload to Wunderground? Cumulus only works on Windows.

Hello, Any Update (beta soon) if we can use Culumus with the RPI because is a pain having the pc on 24/7? :) Thanks

I have the 'engine' part pretty much working - I've been using it myself for some time now. I am still working on the user interface; I don't know when that will be ready.
