It sends the 'recent max gust', i.e. the peak value in the last 10 minutes. So if you upload every 5 minutes, you might imagine that it would be impossible for it to miss the peak gust. Unless there happened to be a communication error. Apart from that possibility, the only way that I could see that WU could miss the value would be if you had changed the default 10 minute setting using the PeakGustMinutes setting in cumulus.ini. But presumably you haven't done that as otherwise you would have mentioned it, as it's clearly relevant.

Ok. I don't have that line in the Cumulus.ini file. Should I add it and change it to 5 minutes?
But, it's not just Weather Underground, Met Office WOW and PWS Weather. Also, the wind graph which doesn't plot the high wind gust.

No. You need to think about why that isn't a sensible suggestion, given the issue you say you are having and what I've been trying to explain to you
But if it's really set to the default 10 minutes, and you are uploading to WU every 5 minutes, and Cumulus is running all the time (in particular at the time of the peak gust), then other than a communication failure I can't see how WU can fail to record the peak value. So presumably it's something strange that WU is doing (and I believe the other web sites all use the same software). But if you can get definitive evidence that Cumulus isn't sending the correct data I'd be happy to look at it. It would be a
very odd bug, though, given that the code just sends the current 'recent max gust' value every time.

Look. DO NOT EDIT YOUR POSTS AFTER YOU HAVE POSTED THEM. And I've already explained why the graphs are as they are - several times.

Oh just a minute. The reason the web sites aren't showing the peak gust is for the same reason that was explained to you right at the start of this thread.

Ok, Steve.

Ok, I understand.
As I said, I don't have the line in the Cumulus.ini file. Cumulus is sending the right data. But, it is missing it on other things that I pointed out before.
What would I need to send to you if it was a problem to do with Cumulus?

Right, ok. So, it's a problem with Cumulus that may need to be looked into as it is nothing to do with the weather station.

Oh FFS. I added code to periodically fetch the peak gust value for the daily high value, to get around the fact that the Davis DLL doesn't fetch every reading. This has been explained to you. If you don't like the fact that I had to make Cumulus work that way, you could [redacted] off and actually pay for some software, and then waste someone else's time instead of mine.
Congratulations, you finally made it to my ignore list. Bye.

Ok, that's fine. That's nothing to do with me.

This is interesting. I've looked around other website and at their wind graphs and their wind gusts are plotted correctly. Turning off the wind animation didn't help. Is this a Davis Vantage Vue problem?

I've just looked through numerous Cumulus weather websites and found that none of them had missed the high wind gust recorded for today. Do I need to change anything in Cumulus?

Maybe you need to put a
CLEAN copy of Cumulus on your computer, then
QUIT messing with it.... I'm surprised what you have works at all with you messing around all the time!!!!!!
To everyone else, sorry for the rant.. But, for Christ's sake this is ridiculous!!!!!

I did that yesterday. Calm down.

Hmmm, I know why the wind graph and wind gauge don't show the high wind gust. It's because the Davis received the high wind gust in between the 2.5 second update when Cumulus receives the data and only showed the wind gust at that 2.5 second interval. Is this supposed to happen? It seems suspicious.
