Cumulus Support

My 2090 was sitting out in the yard as I learned the software, and what not.
So when I went to mount it, I noticed that my movements registered as rain. So I reset the readings in the "files" as instructed, now it's mounted and it's raining, and now it doesn't register rain.
The mast is leaning a little north, not much but can't get level bubble perfect.
so do I pull unit and go back through it to see if anything fell in while installing it
or do I look at software?
I am so new at this, and love to learn more, read about others having problems later in life with spyders and stuff.

Another question is how do I create a banner for my station on my banner here in the forums.

A mast is a far from ideal position for a rain guage. (Maintenace being one of them )

There are all sorts of guide lines, but basically it should be perfectly level and two > four feet off the ground (or other surface) - this is to prevent 'splatter' entering the funnel.

... and although it should be in the open, it should also not be subject to wind shear (Which would would reduce the apparent amount of rain)

BTW - It's better on a small flat platform as this reduces wind blowing up through the drainage holes which again will give false readings !

reason for a mast is I only have a very small yard with 40 ft + trees on one side and my house on the other, so I read next best thing is mounting it on the house. I might have misunderstood, but there was a mast so just attached it to that.
Do you think I should mount it in the yard instead?
Yes trouble shooting on a wet roof doesn't excite me...lol

If it isn't in a rain 'shadow' from the trees that should be near enough, or if you have a largish flat roof where you can install it away from wind turbulence from any walls.

You will / may need an extension lead (your anemometer should be approx. 30 feet / 9m up and your temp. sensor about shoulder height - don't ask !)
