WMR88 Wind direction Average

Post by billygray »

Hi All, just joined total newbie. Very impressed with Cumulus but my question is can I get an average wind direction in the past results. Do not know if my WMR88 is capable of storing it but can't seem to find any record in Cumulus. I can see it in the graphs but only for a few hours before, I was hoping I could go backwards say a day or two and find the average wind direction, I can get the average speed no probs but it is direction I want. Thanks, Newbie.

It's stored in the 'monthly' log files, i.e the main log files: http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Monthly_log_files

That page lists it as field 07(H).

Hi Steve, just want to ask something else. I live in Spain and have not had any rain for months now but my graph for rain is showing 48 mm, I can only assume this is my fault by moving it too much during siting of the rain catcher. How do I manually change the data to get the daily reading and therefore monthly reading back to zero so the records are accurate. Thanks, Billy.

Thanks mcrossley. I tried that last night but it did not work but tried again today and it has cleared the rain figures from the Cumulus front screen so thanks. I think it would not let me delete until the next day i.e. today. Much appreciated. billygray.

Can anyone tell me over what period of time the wind direction average is calculated?

The default is 10 minutes. You can change this via the AvgBearingMinutes setting in cumulus.ini
