Strange blip in today.ini

In five years can't say I've noticed this one before. Noticed <today> was showing 15.3C in recent extremes and on my website as todays highest temperature whereas I knew it was only 10.5C at that time. In fact the time given was 15.33 yet my log file was recording at 10 minute intervals, at 15.20, 15.30, 15.40. There was no entry in the log file for these time/temp values. It was in the today.ini file though and easily fixed by editing out, and it has also updated since with a new correct max temp value. So where did it pick it up from? Odd.

The time that the high temperature occurs is not related to the entries in the logs. The high temp and time do not necessarily appear in the monthly log file at all. The simplest explanation is that your station sent that reading at that time.

Incorrect highs and lows (and corresponding times) can also occur when the midnight rollover didn't occur for whatever reason, so the readings are actually from yesterday. But looking at your web site, it appears that the rollover did occur, so a 'glitch' in the data from the station is the most likely cause.

Yes of course, I forget that. Been very good of late - it is one of those odd electrical spikes that sometimes occur I guess. Maybe a sign of a faltering battery somewhere, bearing in mind the recent cold and damp. Thanks Steve.
