Back loading Data from WA-2081

Post by Madden »

I have a WA-2081 station and it is working fine with Cumulus when connected via USB. If I disconnect the station from the computer for a day or two and then reconnect everything it does not backload the data from the days whilst it is disconnected. I am under the impression that it should backload the history that is stored in the station, or am I wrong again. Any hints or advice appreciated.

It should do that, yes, as long as you are actually stopping it. It reads the data to catch up when it starts up. If you allow your PC to sleep without closing Cumulus, or disconnect the station and leave Cumulus running, it won't catch up.

If you are stopping and starting Cumulus appropriately, please zip up the diags folder and attach it, and I'll investigate.

Thanks Steve. I have just disconnected so I will reconnect tomorrow and then send the file to you.

Thanks for your prompt replies. It is a very, very good program.

I have attached the diags file for you to have a look at. I hope it is what you are after.

You've told Cumulus not to use the data from the logger when it starts up ('use data logger' unset on the station settings screen):

12/10/2013 09:13:01.847 : UseDataLogger not set, switch to normal running

You also appear to be allowing Windows to suspend, which will also cause loss of data while Cumulus is running:

10/10/2013 23:00:48.784 : Windows SUSPEND broadcast received

Thanks very much Steve. The data logger is now ticked and the evening suspend at 23:00 was initiated by another program which went to sleep at that time. It was not set in my power options but I have overridden it manually. Hopefully that will be the end of the dumb questions and then I will get a donation off to you.

Cheers mate.
