Display Light

Recently purchased a Nevada WH-3080 solar, anyone knows how to keep the display light on rather than the short time it remains on when pressing any of the front buttons.

More information about this when you search. Have found though that keeping the light on changes the pressure readings. I've tested it my self.

sorry my question was cut off... how do you managed to turn the light on since there is no switch, it only comes on if you press one of the buttons on the front of the display and the light stays on for 10-15 seconds.....can you help as to how to turn on the light....for the display...it is a Nevada WH3080 solar unit.....

You need to short out the switching transistor by putting a switch across the collector/emitter of the transistor. Problems caused on mine was a slight increase in the internal temperature of the dis[play therefore showing the room temperature slightly high.
I hadn't noticed the pressure change. Might try that if we can get a constant pressure here.
Don't try the shorted transistor trick unless you understand the first sentence

Hi,
The Fine Offset (manufacturer) software doesn't allow the backlight to stay on continuously because it could quickly flatten the batteries.
If you always run the Console from the USB supply then it is possible to modify the hardware to keep the light on. The additional internal heating by the LEDs is actually quite small compared with the heat from the relay (which operates all the time that the USB is plugged in). The modification to the 1080/81 (which is not quite the same as the 3080/81) is shown
here and also earlier in the same thread.
However, personally I connected a separate resistor directly from the USB input voltage to the LEDs so that the LEDs are on (only) when the Console is externally powered. For this modification it was only necessary to remove the back of the case, not the PCB. But note that there is (at least in my 1080) a small resistance (IIRC about 6 ohms) in series with the Earth of the USB connector, which might be related to the reported barometer errors.
