bugreport - install

Post by hrsfoto »

I am trying to install and run Cumulus 1.9.4. I have been running Weatherlink 6.0.3 just fine on my computer and website and weather underground. I am getting the attached error that will not let Culumus start.

Any ideas?

Are you sure you're using 1.9.4? That bugreport file is from 1.9.3.

It's crashing because Windows doesn't understand the date format in the today.ini file. Have you changed your date settings in Windows recently? If you can't work out what needs changing, please zip up the diags folder and attach it, along with your today.ini file.

Yes. 1.9.3. dont know how I got the 4 there. No date/time change that I know of, none manually. The time is set to automatically be set to internet time. Apparently I do not have that file anywhere on the computer. I will read the readme file and do that and see how it goes and get back with you later.

Thank You for the direction. I had to 'reset' the date and time in 'Region and Languaage/ Formats/Additional Settings/Customize Format/Time/Reset

The program has now started with the settings page so should be working ok now

You're trying to connect in USB mode; that doesn't work. See the FAQ: http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/FAQ#How_do ... Cumulus.3F

Presumably you haven't actually run Cumulus properly yet, so don't have any settings, so you can just delete cumulus.ini then run Cumulus.

OK That worked. Still having problems. It appears I have been connecting to Vantage pro2 by usb so I am now trying to do it by serial mode with 'CP210X USB to Serial Converter'. Will let you know how it goes.

OK. Culumus is now working. Had to read several locations on different websites to help figure it out. I did have this on my computer 'CP210X USB to Serial Converter' but apparently had never 'run' it to start working. Apparently I figured as with many programs or files that windows just finds it and runs it when needed, but not this one

Thank You for your help

Be careful using it though. I've had problems with it in the past (on the old PC; I just stood up a new system last night) where it would spit -32701 errors 15 to 20 times in a 30 minute period. I would still get data, but that was enough for me to nix the use of it. I may try it again on the new system however and see if it works or doesn't.

Thank You. After I got Cumulus running I found the options to get the info onto weather underground, so I am happy. That was why I thought I needed both programs at the same time.
