Hi Steve
What is the difference in the Highs and Lows between highest rain rate and highest hourly rate - mine seem to come up with the same figures ?
Regards
Alan

Re: Rain Rate
Fine Offset stations don't supply a rain rate figure so Cumulus has to derive one. It currently uses the amount of rain that fell in the previous 5 minutes (so if 1 mm fell in that time, the rate would be shown as 12 mm/hr).
During startup, while processing the history data, the calculation is slightly different in that instead of using a 5 minute interval, it uses whatever interval the station logger is set to.
So the 'rain in last hour' could sometimes be the same as the calculated rate, depending on the pattern of rainfall, whether the data is being read from the logger or not, and the the logger interval.
