Converting NOAA adjusted pressure back to station pressure

Post by CLutes »

We are running the Vantage Vue Weather Station with the Weather Link software. I have a large set of data for "Bar" which I believe has been collected with the default "NOAA" setting. I am looking for a way to convert it back to station pressure; or at least to something that has a constant offset. Can that be done with the Cumulus software? any other way?

In other words I don't care too much about the units of the pressure; what I am interested in is the actual change in pressure with time at the location of observation. I am trying to "undo" the temperature and humidity corrections.

You can get the current station pressure from Cumulus, but it won't convert historical data. Cumulus uses some routines written by Steve Hatchett; he also provides a stand-alone app to do the conversion, but I think it will just do one value at a time - http://www.softwx.com/weather/vppressurecalc.html

His routines, if you want to write your own software to do it, are here - http://www.softwx.com/weather/uwxutils.html
