Imported some bad data - trying to clean it up

Post by tul9033 »

The AC adapter on my Vantage Vue came unplugged running down the batteries. Once I realized what happened and got it plugged back in and online it created a rain event with 9.24" of rain which had thrown off all of my data. I'm including my diag folder. Looks like the event was 9/13 @12:44am. My highest montly rainfall and longest dry period are now off. Yesterday rainfall is also showing 9.24".
Tried editing out the data but having some diffculty. Any help is much appreciated.

Edit the monthly file (in the data dir; it should be named Sep13log.txt) to remove the erroneous amount, then using the dayfile.txt editor, remove 9/13 and then click on 'create missing'. That *should* correct the issue. You will then likely need to regenerate the records by select Edit and then whatever record you need to regenerate.

It's probably easier to just edit the total in dayfile.txt directly rather than doing a 'create missing'. You can also (with Cumulus stopped) edit today.ini to change yesterday's displayed value (although this will correct itself anyway).

Note that there is a FAQ about rain correction - http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/FAQ#My_sta ... _figure.29 and there is also information about correcting the data logs in the descriptions of the files in the wiki.
