Hi,
First post...
I have a davis Pro 2 running with Cumulus, the latest download version. I think I have set up the website correctly, but it does not seem to get the data.
What have I missed?

You don't seem to have uploaded the required config file, CumulusRealtime.xml, as
http://www.geoghunt.talktalk.net/CumulusRealtime.xml gives a 404. Instructions are in the readme.txt file that came with the Cumulus Realtime download. In addition, you will need to configure Cumulus to upload the realtime.txt file containing the data; it would presumably be here -
http://www.geoghunt.talktalk.net/realtime.txt - but that also gives a 404.
If those files are actually there, but the web server won't serve them (because it doesn't allow .xml and .txt files), then you can't use the Cumulus Realtime web application with your provider.

The CumulusRealtime.xml file is in the zip file that you downloaded. You edit it as in the readme.txt in the zip file and upload it. To get Cumulus to upload the realtime.txt file you have to set the realtime options on the internet settings screen. If you've already set those but the realtime.txt file isn't being uploaded, then the most likely explanation is that you've configured the wrong directory in the 'web site' settings, and you probably need to leave it blank instead.
Those image files on your site should be getting uploaded to an 'images' folder, but that presumably doesn't exist - if you want to use the standard Cumulus web site you need to follow the instructions on setting up a web site in the help and/or the wiki. But you've called the page hosting the Cumulus Realtime application index.html, so it's become the default page rather than the index.htm page that Cumulus is uploading, and the rest of the pages are thus effectively hidden as it won't be obvious to someone visiting the site how to get to them. It's not clear to me exactly what it is you're trying to achieve.

Thanks Steve,
I shall have another read of the wiki, as I thought I had followed it though - clearly not. I have uploaded the files you mentioned, and will have another play with the settings. The weather station is at school, so I shall have to wait until tomorrow.
Hopefully I shall be able to report a successful website soon,
Paul

Hi,
Well I seem to be making progress, so thanks to Steve and the Wiki page.
Does it now look right?
The webpage structure still looks a little messy but I am wokring on that.... How do I link the files to the realtime pages?

Yes that looks better, the standard pages are visible. Realtime guages are also there.
You might want to update to a more recent build of Cumulus, it changes the navigation links by adding an extra (monthly records) web page. If you can compare the build you currently have with the new one (on install say no to updating templates, then the new ones will go in your local subfolder web/originals) so you can compare new in there with your existing old ones left in web subdirectory.
Having seen what has changed, do a similar change for your CumulusRealtime.html page.

Yes, I shall have a look at that. I thought I had made some changes, and then of course, the computer at school uploaded the latest page from there, instead of my home pc, so I lost the changes.
Am I right in thinking that templates need to be on the computer that Cumulus us running on.
Thanks
Paul

A 'template' is a local file containing webtags that Cumulus must process in order that Cumulus can generate a web page (HTML) (and upload to your website normally). So yes, the template must be edited on the machine with cumulus installed.
Incidentally, if you do update your cumulus you will need to follow the numbered steps in the release notice about 'monthly records' - see
https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9286.
A file that stays unchanged on your website (like the weatherstyle.css file) is something that you could download to a computer without cumulus, edit it (say you wanted to change 'text-transform: lowercase;'), then as you have been doing use a file transfer program to put the new version onto your website.

Hi everyone.
I have made a lot of progress since last night, but still seem to have an issue with realtime.
I don't have any thing showing on the dials, is this an issue with the host rather than the files i have uploaded?
Thanks
Paul

You would appear to be uploading the realtime.txt instuction file up as realtime.txt rather than the correct file with the webtags processed, that is why it is not working.
