date format in monthly txt files

I've just bought a Aercus WS3083 which I think is a Fine Offset rebadged.

In the log file Sept13log.txt the first field, date, is being stored as 08 09 13 rather than 08/09/13. So when Cumulus opens it gives an error that it doesn't like the spaces.

I think this is something to do with Windows 8 as I've tried it on a Windows XP machine and the format is correct.

Any ideas about how I get the date stored in the required format?

Thanks for any guidance.

Cumulus just uses the Windows date separator without checking that it's set to something that won't cause problems. You need to go into the 'region' settings in the Windows control panel, and change the 'short date' format settings to use something valid for the date separator. Cumulus doesn't really care what you use, but certain characters (like space or comma) will cause problems, and not just in Cumulus. Slashes, full stops, and dashes are the ones usually used.

This won't correct your existing data, of course.

Thanks very much for that - yes, that solved the Cumulus problem although I would have preferred not to have changed that format because it influences other features of my computer's user interface...
