Hi Steve
I have recorded a few minutes of video which shows the screen trace of the latest version recorder with also on the screen the W/M2 measured by an IsoTech ISM410 meter.
My satellite upload can't cope with the size of files so I will send you a CD if that is OK.
I hope it impresses !!
Regards
Alan

Also have a 1-wire network - as you've no doubt noticed.

Hi All
Thanks to those volunteering - but it's not a list yet - we will be publishing the conditions and asking for volunteers fairly soon and asking for some more details of your site (like the views to the horizon).
Meanwhile - when we ever get a glimpse of the sun - trials continue. Below is what February looks like so far. One graph shows the duration and the other the hours per azimuth which might be of interest to solar power users.
Regards
Alan

Could you explain what the lower plot represents, please? I can see the X axis is date and infer that the yellow plot is your sunshine hours but what is the grey?

From the way the total of grey+yellow increases, I infer that it must be day length, so the grey will be daylight below the 'sunny' threshold?

Yes, that was my thought but wasn't sure.

Hi
Quite right it is the balance of the day length from rise to set.

Hi All
The testing with the latest version of the recorder is going well. Ole is just finishing tidying the software and we are now going to make a further 10 units to start off with. There will be a bit of a delay as some component suppliers are quoting about 5 weeks delivery time -

we'll get there in the end!!

Alan

Thanks for the update Alan

Amazing how things always seem to take longer than you think/hope!

Hi
I mentioned my comparison of the Sun Recorder with the Isotech ISM410 watt meter in a video - here is a graphical representation it.
The meter was screened with a tube to allow only direct sunlight. The graphs below show the meter output at the top with the 120W/M2 threshold shown (reduced to 100 as it was factored by a measured amount of glass loss through my window).
The recorder values are shown in the bottom graph - again with the threshold shown. Not 100% right yet but pretty close.
Regards
Alan
