WS3083 weather station

Can anyone help - how do you insert batteries? The middle insert does not seem to come out to insert batteries and connect wires?

Welcome to the forum. Please can you post a (small) photograph to show the problem. Is it the middle of three AA cells in the LCD "Console"? Which "wires" are you referring to?
