Belkin Network USB hub F5L009 with Fine Offset WH1080

In an earlier topic I posted, I discussed using Cumulus as a Windows Service under Windows Home Server 2011 (successfully). A couple of different but related matters may be of interest.
Originally I was running Cumulus under Win XP SP3 with a Fine Offset WH1080 or 1081 bought from Maplins who now give it their own badge. Note the price for this item seems to change monthly! I bought 2 at about £39 each in case I needed spares. Because of the location of my PC/Server and the Weather Station base, I needed a method of connecting the two so I used Belkin's Network USB Hub. This enables a USB device to connect to your ethernet network and can operate over a considerable distance. To my surprise this worked well with only a couple of seizures over several years.
Before I moved to Windows Home Server 2011, I tested Cumulus as a Windows Service and also tried the Network USB hub as a service so I could run the whole PC/Server with no user logged in. The crucial program within Belkin's software was "connect.exe" and I installed this as a service and again to my surprise it worked.
I haven't tried the Belkin under Windows Home Server 2011 as I have had a reorganisation of my server setup and it is no longer needed.
