Rain Rate WMR88

Post by snowman1977 »

Hello Steve,
I have a WMR88 Oregon Station which has a sensibility rain of 1,0mm. Therefore i'm thinking i modify the pluviometer(operating on the adjust screw under the toggle switch) for increase the sensibility to 0,5mm and then set to correct rain multiplier on the cumulus's settings. But in so doing, i believe that the rain rate read from station and communicated to Cumulus become wrong! The solution would be use the rain rate calculated from cumulus ignoring that of the wmr88.
So I would like to ask you if there is a way to set cumulus to use own rain rate instead that of the wmr88.
Excuse me for my imprecise english!
Thanks.

There's no option for Cumulus to calculate the rain rate for the WMR88. I don't understand the problem. If you set a multiplier, Cumulus will read the rate from the station and apply the multiplier to it. Is that not correct - am I missing something?

Steve first of all thanks for your quick response to my question.
Excuse me but I naively did not think the multiplier also acted on rain rate calculated by the Weather Station. This is the reason why I wanted to use the rain rate calculated from Cumulus instead of the weather station ...
Thank you and congratulations.
