WS-3081 Weather Station set up.jpg
Spent 3 hours yesterday setting it up (see attached pic), have set date etc & have it connected to this PC OK BUT no UV index display or light reading. I sprayed electronic contact solvent on the two sockets in the thermo-hygro sensor but that did not help.
It it the commonly reported solar panel problem or am I missing something obvious?
TIA
John

Hi John,
Welcome to the forum. Have you tried holding in the <down arrow> button on the Console for about 10 seconds? You might need to try this several times (spaced some minutes apart).
The transmitter sends two different "messages", the "normal" external data every 48 seconds and the Solar data once per minute. The receiver only "wakes up" to receive these two messages so may need to be synchronised by a "reset" (<down arrow> or replacing the batteries, etc.). There is also a reset button on the underside of the Solar Pod which might help.
Has it ever displayed Solar data? If not, then the hardware (e.g cable/connector) might be faulty. But unfortunately, many people have experienced "lock ups" of the processor in the Solar Pod, or "slipping" of the timing of the Solar data. There are several long threads concerning the matter on this forum, which will probably be found by a search for "3081" (also 3080 for European versions).
Cheers, Alan.

Hi Alan,
I have had my share of woes with the 3083.
Lithium batteries fixed things the first time.
Second time around the solar panel was faulty and I had that replaced.
So far so good currently.
If drops, using the reset button does not work for me. I have to remove the batteries completely and re seat to reset the sensor.
I would changed to lithium batteries to begin with if I was you
Cheers
Jenny
