Problem with your fonts, perhaps. Do you have the three required fonts?
// Path to our font file
$font1 = $SITE['fontdir'] . "arialbd.ttf";
$font2 = $SITE['fontdir'] . "arial.ttf";
$font3 = $SITE['fontdir'] . "verdana.ttf";
If you do have those, I don't know why it isn't working; perhaps someone else can help.

Sorry, don't understand.

That's how Davis stations work. They don't supply a gust. The field from realtime.txt that the default script uses is the 'latest' figure, i.e. the 3-second figure (in the case of Davis stations) that the station supplies. Half the time that figure will be below the average. If you want it to display the 'recent max gust' figure that Cumulus generates instead, you'll need to modify the script; instructions are in the banner thread somewhere.

righto will look at fonts, I noticed when I copied them from the windows directory that some were 800k+ and some 200k+ with the same name should I use the smaller ones??
also "why does the wind speed not say calm when 000 00 or 360 00" I'd expect the wind speed to be reported as calm if the wind speed is zero
unless its an average over the last ten minutes...if it isnt then I'd expect the reading to be 360 or 000 not --- the first eight group was always reported as N0000
when I was an observer many years ago..
as always thks for your help
Peter

The ones I'm using are about 750k for the arial ones and about 180k for verdana.

I guess Kevin thought that a wind speed of zero was obviously the same as "calm", and didn't put any special code in to display "calm" rather than zero. And it seems to me that to the layman, "0 mph" is clear about what it means, but a speed of "calm" may have some other interpretation. But the code can be changed by anyone who wants it to do that.

Thankyou, I discovered, well my son in law Graeme discovered, that the verdana file that I copied over was corrupt, who would have thought it on a new windows 8.1, and as there were two
I copied the other and all works fine now..
I'm impressed by jerbils table represention of weather on his site, I might do something similar, I'll ask him..
However, my ultimate target would be to plot and display a station circle from the realtime.txt, do you know or have you seen anyone who has done this? I would assume
its just positioning the data around a lot of gifs.
Kind regards & thks again
Peter

No, I'm not aware of anyone who has attempted this.
