Graph scaling problem

Post by glassman »

Hi Steve

I am running 1.8.4 build 605 - Fine Offset station - all has been fine until this morning when I ran Cumulus.

I checked the mini graphs as usual and most of them instead of them showing an x axis of 24 hours are showing an x axis of just 1 hour.

I have tried closing Cumulus and restarting but no different.

I have attached a screen print showing the problem The two mini graphs which show monthly figures - rainfall and temp min/max/av are OK. Additionally the wind speed mini graph top left which appears to show an x axis of 1 hour in the small window shows just zeroes on the x axis and no scaling on the y axis.

Presumably its some sort of data corruption - any suggestions where I should start looking and for what !

Best regards

The graphs are populated at start-up from the data in the monthly log files, i.e. in this case Jun09log.txt, so you probably have some sort of problem in there. If you can't see the problem, attach it here and I'll have a look. A common problem is a blank line as a result of manual editing, and sometimes garbage characters being introduced as a result of using an inappropriate editor to edit the files (e.g. Excel).

Hi Steve

Thanks for the swift reply - have checked the Jun log file and spotted that there were 6 rogue entries at the start of the file dated 21st Jun !!

I do recall some months back that I inadvertantly changed the computer date when accessing the calendar so presumably Cumulus opened a June log file at that time and wrote these 6 entries until I corrected the date. Once June actually arrived Cumulus continued writing to the file it had created some months ago.

Rogue entries removed and graphs are fine !

Many thanks
