No problem, Steve. It's been a guessing game ever since Centurylink has been the ISP.<groan>
Well, I went and mowed three acres of grass and came back in to the website still updating....running now for 2-1/2 hours.
This may be a dumb question, but would setting up static IP addresses for the devices on my LAN make any positive difference?

I wouldn't have thought so.Intheswamp wrote:This may be a dumb question, but would setting up static IP addresses for the devices on my LAN make any positive difference?

Re: FTP problems with new Zyxel PK5001Z and station
BeeWeather made it all the way through the night until around 8:30am this morning and an ftp error knocked out the updates again. This evening when I got home I went ahead and took the PK5001Z combo junk offline and replaced it with the DLink router and the old Zyxel 660 modem. I reset the DLink and thankfully did have the configuration file that I saved when I was working on the webcam and needed to update the DLink's firmware. Everything went very smoothly. It was about 8:30pm this evening when I put the old equipment back on line...so far no hiccups.
One thing I am noticing is that Rapidfire on WU is back at a less than 10 second update interval (I actually haven't seen an interval longer than 6 seconds). Rapidfire had slowed down to a crawl...sometimes pushing minute and a half intervals. So that has improved, also.
I'll post back with hopefully positive news tomorrow. Thanks for bearing through my ramblings.

The website is still up and percolating this morning...performance seems much better. I've posted another thread as a 'review' (warning) about the PK5001Z... https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=10442

Re: FTP problems with new Zyxel PK5001Z and station
It's been 5-6 days since I switched back to the old equipment and only a few odd ftp issues since then...a couple of nights around 2:15am I'd get some errors over maybe a two minute time span. Kinda of odd, but nothing compared to what I was getting previously. It looks like those errors have cleared up now, too.
I'm a happy camper again.
