Have updated the Howto files (now a separate one for Cumulus and for Saratoga) so hopefully that will help to make a successful installation.
Cant seem to download the file from your site at present. getting no download at all.

PS I had to revert mine back to an older variant too as I also go a 500 error. not sure why. think my previous working one was cached perhaps and not showing an updated cloudbasemx file. I've just upgraded Apache to 2.4.53 and php to 8.1.4 now, so would like to try your latest version and see what issues I see.

Keith are you able to take a look at your apache logs? you may see some logging of the error there.

Apologies,
I have been making further minor changes and managed to get a fail on the moon code which I did not notice prior to posting for download.

So blocked the download while I sorted it out.

Just completed the update so will post shortly.

@ConligWX

Sorry Simon, I know nothing about Apache. I am in a Windows environment. Having said that it seems that my ISP does provide Apache in the provided cpanel but I know nothing about it. Let's wait to see what @BCJKiwi comes up with to see if I can get it to work here.

Yep sure. I've tested a new release with PHP 8.1.4 and it seems to be working now. Brian should probably release it soon.

CloudBase for Cumulus Ver 2.2.4

There is an updated version of this script Dated 23 March 2022 available on our Saratoga website at
http://silveracorn.nz/weather/wxscripts.php

It is compatible with PHP 7 and PHP 8 ( tested with ver 8.1.4 ).
This version works with a CumulusMX template or with a Saratoga template.
It now uses the CumulusMX style Moon images and a version of these are included in the package.

It will also be included in the next release of the CumulusMXUI template.

Still having trouble in getting this to work with my Saratoga site after having downloaded and installed the new version 2.2.4 dated 23 March 2022 following, what I thought as carefully, the updated instructions. According to my ISP - Host Papa, the PHP version it is set for is PHP 7. Tried changing the PHP version to PHP 8 and this causes the whole site not to work.

One strange thing that happens is when I FTP the file cloudbaseCUmx.php using PHP7 to my ISP remote site the file name changes to lower case "cu" rather than "CU". This happens whether I use Filezilla or my usual FTP program in Total Commander (this part of Total Commander has worked reliably for many years now). The error message reported is - Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 ()

Don't know where to go from here.

Well there is some issue with the file transfer or settings somewhere as the filename should not change when uploaded - very strange!

When using Filezilla you can edit or rename the file on the server.

In the Remote Site panel:-
Expand the sitename in the Remote Site
Right click the filename
click Rename

Change the filename to the correct case format.

Do any other files get their name changed?

@BCJKiwi Thanks Brian. After trying a few different things, I found that the file "get-metarSA-inc.php had also been transferred to the server with lowercase "sa" similar to the "CU" in the cloudbase file. Once corrected it seems to be working. Would appreciate your having a look to check, please.

As to why the change in file name occurs is still a mystery!

All good now. Started again from scratch with a fresh download of the latest v 2.2.4. The problem with changing the case in some files when uploading to the server continues to be a conundrum. I know of it’s possibility now so will keep it in mind.

Thanks. Keith

FileZilla has section to select "default actions" on file transfers is a file exists. I suggest you take a look at that and see what setting is selected.

open FileZilla, do not connect. then goto Edit, Settings. then in the Settings window, select "File Exist action" in the Transfers section.

You have Auckland Airport NZAA set for decoding the METAR. Try setting a nearer airport e.g. EHAM if nearby.

Hello Dennis, stupid that I did not think of that, has always been like that (wrong). :bash: :bash:
I need to find something in the Netherlands, the nearest airport is https://metar-taf.com/nl/EHLE Lelystad-Airport.

Many thanks,
Sjaak.
