Minor issues with cumulus

Post by rocket51 »

I am experiencing some troubles with the software:

1) At present I am unable to keep my base unit connected to my computer 24/7, however from time to time I use to download datas from the internal memory.
When the download process ends, I see in the "recent extremes" table that many values were recorded at the same time, and especially at the same minute. I exclude it is a coincidence as this happens about every time.
For example, on today I had minimum temp. at 06.28, max wind gust at 06.28 , Min pressure at 06.28 , High wind at 09.28, Max temp at 12.28 , Max pressure at 00.08 and so on. Today last digit is always "8", on yesterday it was always "5".
How can I fix that? Is connecting the unit 24/7 the only solution?

2) Every graph in my cumulus displays fully covered by a big circle of the same colour as the trend line, so that at some point they become indistingushable.
If I select multilple variables to show, an equal number of circles appear. This only happens using 2d graphs.
Any solution?

Many thanks

If you rely on logger data, then the data can only have timestamps at the interval that you have the logger set to. There is no intermediate data available, that's how the logger works. You could set the interval to 1 minute if you use my 'setlogger' utility (on the downloads page) but of course this reduces the effective capacity of the logger to around 68 hours. Note that a 1-minute interval is not explicitly supported by the manufacturer (if they have any form of support at all) but appears to work OK.

Sorry, I don't understand. A screen shot would be helpful.

Hi,

1) It sounds as if the Logging Interval of the Console is set too long (half an hour+ ?). It can only be changed (5 minutes is a typical recommendation) using the original Easyweather software, or Steve's utility (in the downloads section?).

2) I don't really understand what you are seeing. Is it in the "Select a Graph" section and do you actually mean "3D" view? Can you show us a screenshot?

Cheers, Alan.

PS: Ah, Steve was quicker than me as usual. ;)

It's something to do with the legends, but I am afraid I have no idea what the problem is. The graph component draws all of the parts of the graph. Do your 'normal' Cumulus graphs do this also, or just Select-A-Graph?

What value are you using for 'legend symbol width' in the display settings?

360 is far too big, that's 360 pixels. The default is actually 1.

THAT was the problem! Probably I set 360 for mistake a while ago. Now everything works perfectly!
I will try to fix the logging interval as you said, until I'll be able to connect my unit 24/7.
Thank you SO MUCH Steve and other users!
