Time settings for sunrise/sunset

I've recently purchased an Ambient Weather station...running Windows 7 with the latest download of Cumulus as of 3 days ago.
Below my title on the page, the sun rises (always) at 11:07 each night and sets at 11:14 in the morning...the rest is obviously
in error too.
I've set my coordinates number of times (Spokane, Wa is 48N, 117W as far as I can determine), checked the computer clock (not to difficult) and reloaded the program completely 3 times. Also, have the station config on 'fine offset (WH1080).
What am I missing? I do not feel comfortable running the program with this blatant error continually. I suppose it's something
simple yet I'm overlooking it.
How do I right this to move on to deeper use of the program.
Hugh

In almost every case I've ever seen where the sunrise and sunset times are wrong, it's because incorrect co-ordinates have been entered. And the other cases were where the PC was set to the wrong timezone.

Perhaps it isn't saving the settings you're entering - some of the edit controls seem to cause problems on some systems. Could you attach a screen shot of your station settings screen, please, and copy and paste the latitude and longitude values from your cumulus.ini?

I am a newbie but wonder, if lat/lon is typically the cause for your problem does the longitude need the - sign in front of it or does entering it as W take care of that. I'll need to know when I install Cumulus so I may as well throw in that thought.

Thank you very much...I've converted my decimals to min/sec and placed them in the correct boxes too!
I'm back to exactly what should be showing...whew! Gotta read the boxes...H

You don't use negative values at all when using the deg/min/sec format, you enter your 'hemisphere', N or S for latitude, E or W for longitude. This format is unambiguous, unlike the decimal format where sometimes negative longitude means west of the prime meridian, and sometimes east, which is why the Cumulus screen uses d/m/s.

I have a similar issue. I have stuck in my co-ordinates but as the UK has now moved +1 hour from GMT for daylight savings. My sun rise/set info is out by 1 hour. Cumulus doesnt appear to have a "Daylight Savings" feature to correct this .. any advice ? :)

It uses the timezone/DST settings from Windows, so if you do have your co-ordinates entered correctly, it is likely that you don't have the correct settings in Windows.
