Cannot Start Cumulus

Post by mi77915 »

Hi,

I am new here and I have just setup my new La Crosse WS-2308 station. It has been working great with Heavy Weather. I have installed Cumulus and I want to switch from Heavy Weather to Cumulus but have a problem. I terminated the Heavy Weather program and tried to start Cumulus, here is the error message:

"Cannot open the serial port. Another application may have opened it. Close the other application and restart Cumulus, or try rebooting. It may help to disconnect the station from the port while Windows is loading. Error message: SetUpComm function failed (win error code:1)"

I disconnected the station from the serial port connector (I am using a serial port connections to my PC, not through a USB/Serial connection), and rebooted my system. I keep getting the same error message.
Any help/suggestions?

Thank you,

Tom

The only thing I can think of at the moment is that you have specified the wrong serial port?
