Don't know where this issue lies b/c I have changed a lot in my system.
Cum ver 1.93 -- I can't tell which build b/c Cum console won't open.
when I clk the icon to open it, it will popup the downloading windows then close - I don't see a prograss bar so I don't know what it is doing.
If I clk Cum icon again I get a "grunt" sound. The console never opens.
I have reloaded Cum a number of times.
I can't find link to dnld 1.94 to try that.
It appears to be running as it is updating Wunderground.com
So what is the grunt all about?

I guess because Cumulus is already running in the background, and the attempt to start a second copy fails.
Have a look at task manager, and you can kill the background process from there.

Also tick 'Stop 2nd instance' in Station Configuration.
Stop 2nd instance
When set, prevents multiple instances of Cumulus from running. Requires a Cumulus restart to take effect.

i deleted the process but that didn't help. next time I started it - the same thing
Sooo, I uninstalled it and deleted the folder and reinstalled
worked this time, but I had to recover the data folder.
something was keeping the console from opening - probably a setting in an INI file.

Glad you are happy because the problem is solved for you, but I think your solution gives me an idea of why you had your problem.
The setting would be 'MinimizeToTray=1' in 'display' part of cumulus.ini. See http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Cumulus.in ... n:_Display.

thinking about it, I believe I did set the minimize to system tray.
It would seem like if I clk on the icon it should open it up.
That seems to be the way other programs work if they r in the systray.
at least they bring up a window. Why does Cum just grunt???????????
