Pressure upload innaccurate

I'm new to this so please (at least for my first proper question) be kind! I am uploading to Weather Underground, also trying to upload to the Met Office site. On Weather Underground the readings of stations near me show at present a reading of about 1021 hPa, mine is hovering around 1015. What am I doing wrong (if anything) please. I have reinstalled the software on a different computer just in case I mucked it up at some stage. Also reset the receiver by removing batteries for 5 minutes, STILL see a much lower pressure than my neighbours! The Cumulus config is set at hPa (centre button). Any ideas PLEASE? Thanks, Rob.

You need to set the 'relative pressure' on your console so that it displays correct sea-level pressure (i.e. so that it matches a known nearby reliable source). Instructions are in the manual; if you don't have a manual, there's one in the wiki here: http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Fineoffset_manual

Edit: 1021 seems a bit low for where you are, it's been around 1024/1025 so far today.

OK Done that, thanks Steve although I now agree with "everybody else" seems a lot of adjustment needed. Hope my sensor is not faulty. Thanks, Rob.

The amount of adjustment you need depends on two things: your height above sea level, and the amount of adjustment that the console had already applied by default, which may be random. It's the difference between the 'absolute' figure and the 'relative' figure that you ended up with that will tell you approximately how accurately your sensor is currently reading, taking your altitude into account. But at the end of the day, the setting you need to apply doesn't matter in itself, as long as your relative pressure continues to stay approximately in line with other nearby reliable readings.

I'm sorry but I think I have found a serious bug in the software, it's a bit hard to explain but I will try...
I have been uploading to the Met Office WOW site. This shows both the local pressure and the adjusted sea level pressure.

Since last evening I was uploading the correct local air pressure data (about 1013) and this was shown with the corrected sea level data again correctly as about 1023 on the Met Office web site. [Site 63446682]
So far so good...
THEN at about 13.00 today I set up the information for uploading to my web site +I did not alter ANY other settings+
IMMEDIATELY looking on the MET OFFICE site my LOCAL pressure setting had altered to show that I was uploading my MEAN SEA LEVEL pressure as 1013! My local pressure dropped off the bottom of the chart (at about 1003).
I stress I did not alter anything except entered enter my web site FTP details.
This action alone seems to have altered the data that is being uploaded to the Met Office site (and to Weather Underground). Both are now wrong.
Have I explained this clearly?
It's very annoying as I am the only station in my area and I wanted to make it look as accurate as possible.
Someone said it was only the relative pressure difference that was important, I completely disagree!
Is there a way to completely remove ALL the cumulus data prior to a reinstall?

This isn't a bug of the software, sometimes when you startup the fine-offset station reads faulty values, set the spike removals too.

Now reinstalled everything (again) and the pressure's back to normal.

(I Had of course reset the box first)

p.s When the de-installation software says the programme is "completely removed" it is lying!
I had to manually remove the main folder and lots of folders within before installing again.

Welcome to look at the Mat Office web site where the change is obvious.

As Ron said the problem is with your station not the software. Take at look at this FAQ and the related one it refers to. If the problem is recurrent then use the cumulus.ini solution detailed in the FAQ.

I suggest you tone your comments down a bit when you say found a serious bug in the software and it is lying until you are better informed. Read the help and Wiki. When needed most users would prefer a program uninstall or reinstall but retain all or some of the data then they can retain any of the old data that they wish. A complete Cumulus folder removal along with any subfolders should then allow you to reinstall everything fresh.
