Hello all,
have been running Cumulus for years, great program, but this past week, I have noticed it starting to load slowly, and even freeze at times right at the end of the loading process. and I cant not figure out whats going on. no crashes, (computer wise) reformatted the computer last month, downloaded the latest version last week for Cumulus, installed it.
does anyone have any idea what is going on? and why its loading so super slow. and or freezes just before the last tick on the loading bar.?? its driving me flippen crazy.
Thanks In Advance,
Ray

Re: Very Slow Loading of Cumulus
If you zip up the diags folder and attach it, I'll take a look.

Re: Very Slow Loading of Cumulus
Sorry, but there are no obvious problems with the start up in the diags files. Most of the time it's taking just a few seconds from start up to the point when it closes the 'please wait' window and starts normal running. It took a couple of minutes to start up when it had a lot of data to download.
You're getting a lot of ftp errors back from the server:
7/12/2013 13:40:19.506 : FTPRequestDone ftpRenAsync Errcode = 451
7/12/2013 13:40:23.505 : FTPRequestDone ftpRenAsync Errcode = 451
7/12/2013 13:40:26.433 : FTPRequestDone ftpDeleAsync Errcode = 550
7/12/2013 13:40:29.435 : FTPRequestDone ftpDeleAsync Errcode = 550
7/12/2013 13:40:32.435 : FTPRequestDone ftpDeleAsync Errcode = 550
7/12/2013 13:40:35.434 : FTPRequestDone ftpDeleAsync Errcode = 550
7/12/2013 13:40:38.434 : FTPRequestDone ftpDeleAsync Errcode = 550
This is presumably from realtime ftp. It runs in a separate thread, so shouldn't affect the main thread which updates the main screen etc, but perhaps it's an indication of a problem that's affecting your PC in some way. Error 451 is apparently the server saying it can't save the file (disk full etc), so perhaps those errors aren't relevant. But there's no sign of any other issues in the diags files.

Re: Very Slow Loading of Cumulus
ok, is there anything that I can do to make it come back to somewhat normal? without having to wipe it all out and start fresh? I am using a ambient weather station. had it for years, never a problem with the station. I run it almost 24/7 (with reboots here and there through the day)
would Zonealarm have any effect with the running of the program itself? right now its on full. but I did go into it, in the advanced area to make sure that anything ""Cumulus"" is fully trusted.
thanks again for looking into this problem.

Re: Very Slow Loading of Cumulus
I'm afraid I have no idea, because I don't know what the problem is. According to the diags logs everything is working fine.OhioRVHawk wrote:ok, is there anything that I can do to make it come back to somewhat normal?
Quite possibly. You need to make sure that it isn't trying to check the files in the Cumulus folders.would Zonealarm have any effect with the running of the program itself? right now its on full. but I did go into it, in the advanced area to make sure that anything ""Cumulus"" is fully trusted.
